One Chapter Ends, Another Begins

Living the Best You has been quite a journey of learning, loving, and showing up – in ways that have been new for me. As they say in Buddhist teachings, the only thing permanent is impermanence! One of the most fascinating parts of the “job” as a show host was interviewing authors who have helped and taught others in a similar fashion as I have. It took me a while to figure out how to support their wisdom, while also not feeling shy about similar wisdom that I might have and want to share. At first, I would just talk to them about their books and their experiences. This approach (or lack of) was so stressful for me that I was looking forward to the end of the 13 weeks, and felt that perhaps being a show host was not really my thing. When listeners would share how I seemed so natural with it, I was surprised; since inside I was shaking with almost every show. In fact, the Executive Producer from Voice America commented on how good I sounded, and that he would love for me to stay on the show. But of course that would mean that I would need to find a sponsor for the show, and I feel that if it’s meant to be, then it would come together.

The wonderful news is that near the end of the 13-week pilot, I found that I was feeling more comfortable in engaging in a dialog with the guest. It started to feel invigorating! Recently, I was at a fundraiser, and someone approached me who has been involved with a local radio station. She invited me to have a similar show on this local station. This does feel exciting to me since I am free to do this once a month instead of every week. My approach to life has always been that when a door opens for you, walk through, and see where it takes you.

I do want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey for me! If you haven’t had a chance to listen to all 13 podcasts, you can get them at https://janesederrough.comliving-the-best-you-empowerment-radio/

At this time, I will probably not get involved with radio until after we get back from our long hike in Europe. My husband and I will be hiking around (circumventing) Mt. Blanc! It is a 105-mile hike through three countries. I do hope to keep you posted about that journey as well, since I am going into it from the perspective of being on an inner pilgrimage.

Another Venture that I feel drawn to go into is that of writing my own book. Many have suggested that I should. And with my interviews with authors, and a recent dream, I am feeling called to write. I am also quite aware of the inner, critical voice telling me that I do not have anything different to share. But isn’t that part of living with a more mindful presence? We can recognize that voice while still walking forward with our inner soul’s calling! Many times it is the first tiny step that is the most courageous, then after that the wave comes in and sweep you into new directions. When you take this first courageous step in following your dreams, life continues to open new doors.May your next step be a step towards your soul’s calling you back into your truest potential.

  1. I listened to your show about Intuition where you were being interviewed…it was wonderful. I even taped some of it, that I wanted to remember. What you say, strikes a chord with me…always enjoy reading what you have shared.

    • Hi Katy,
I appreciate your positive feedback on the show. I’m also grateful that the one on intuition was helpful. I feel that intuition is as important for us as the other 5 senses that we use in our day to day life. I would love to hear how you’ve used intuition in your life.
      Thanks for sharing!
